ST. JOHNS NS Kenmare – UNIFORM 2020

Dear Parent / Student,

Due to the very difficult Circumstances created by the current health crisis, and the consequential restrictions on movement and social distancing, we will not be able to offer our usual Fitting Day Service in May.

Instead we will use the school website where you will find

  • Usual Order Sheet
  • Size specification sheet for Jumpers and Tracksuits.

If you are aware of your sizing simply complete the order sheet in full and return by email or post direct to me, by 25th MAY 2020 LATEST.

If you are not clear on the size you require – please use the relevant measurement chart and simply measure and complete the sizes accordingly.

It is vital that you complete and return this order sheet, DIRECT TO ME, by email or by post, by 25th May LATEST

Please use one order sheet if you have more than one child – no need to use one for each child We will not be in a position to send individual receipts for orders. We will send a spread sheet of all orders, with details, and with numbers allocated to facilitate collection, to the school for posting on the website.

We intend to distribute the orders, as usual, in Pobalscoil Sports Hall on 26th/ 27th August between 12 noon – 5pm each day.

Please understand that we cannot carry unlimited stocks so we will be filling orders strictly as per the order sheets received.

WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FILL ORDERS RECEIVED AFTER THE ABOVE DATE – 25th MAY -‐ PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU – NO LATE ORDERS!

01/05/2020 3rd Class Mary Lucey

Hello again 3rd Class.

I do hope that you and your families are keeping well. These are difficult times for everybody but we will all do our best. I am sending some suggestions for work for the next 2 weeks. Again I stress, do only what you can manage and what suits home circumstances.

Gaeilge:

Continue to log onto http://www.edco.ie/bua.

Make labels around your house as Gaeilge for rooms, furniture etc…

Maths:

Continue Tables (8 & 9) Multiplication and Division.

Have a quick fire tables quiz.

Revise weight and capacity (kitchen items if baking/cooking).

Daily column of Mental Maths for the next 2 weeks (Use Fridays as a test day).

English:

Daily columns English in Practice.

Jolly Grammar (Next 2 units. Include spellings).

Just Handwriting (one page per day).

Reading Zone: One new story to be chosen per week. Activities done orally with an adult.

SESE:

Choose one new unit from Small World – Geography & Science (activities as oral work).

Other possible activities:

Make a May altar at home – write your own prayer to Mary.

Keep a daily diary of your thoughts and experiences at this time.

Write a card/note/letter to a grandparent or someone else you know.

Go on a nature walk (With an adult and within your 2km radius!) Gather some wildflowers and press in a large book. Create your own wildflower picture.

Keep watching RTE School Home Hub.

Do a daily workout with your family.

Kenmare library has access to ebooks etc.. (if you’re not a member join online for free).

Make sure you get as much fresh air and exercise as possible. Eat as healthily as you can and get enough sleep. I miss you all and look forward to our next News Session! Help out at home and be kind to each other. Stay safe!

Best wishes,

Mrs. Lucey
