Hello again 3rd Class.
I do hope that you and your families are keeping well. These are difficult times for everybody but we will all do our best. I am sending some suggestions for work for the next 2 weeks. Again I stress, do only what you can manage and what suits home circumstances.
Gaeilge:
Continue to log onto http://www.edco.ie/bua.
Make labels around your house as Gaeilge for rooms, furniture etc…
Maths:
Continue Tables (8 & 9) Multiplication and Division.
Have a quick fire tables quiz.
Revise weight and capacity (kitchen items if baking/cooking).
Daily column of Mental Maths for the next 2 weeks (Use Fridays as a test day).
English:
Daily columns English in Practice.
Jolly Grammar (Next 2 units. Include spellings).
Just Handwriting (one page per day).
Reading Zone: One new story to be chosen per week. Activities done orally with an adult.
SESE:
Choose one new unit from Small World – Geography & Science (activities as oral work).
Other possible activities:
Make a May altar at home – write your own prayer to Mary.
Keep a daily diary of your thoughts and experiences at this time.
Write a card/note/letter to a grandparent or someone else you know.
Go on a nature walk (With an adult and within your 2km radius!) Gather some wildflowers and press in a large book. Create your own wildflower picture.
Keep watching RTE School Home Hub.
Do a daily workout with your family.
Kenmare library has access to ebooks etc.. (if you’re not a member join online for free).
Make sure you get as much fresh air and exercise as possible. Eat as healthily as you can and get enough sleep. I miss you all and look forward to our next News Session! Help out at home and be kind to each other. Stay safe!
Best wishes,
Mrs. Lucey
