New Playground Official Opening Oct 2018
Last Friday, 19th October, we were proud to officially open our new school playground with Kerry Senior Footballer, David Clifford cutting the ribbon!
The Open Day was a great success with the new facility being opened in front of a crowd composed of students, teachers, parents, grandparents, members of the Board of Management, Parent’s Association and Clergy Members.
The Playground was built to facilitate the integration of the school’s ASD Class with those in Mainstream Classes. This process of inclusion has been paramount to the tremendous success in the development of social skills and self-esteem for all children.
We would like to thank all those who made the day a success and particularly to Mr. Liam O’Brien for blessing the New Playground and ASD Class. We would especially like to thank all our sponsors for their very generous donations and funding including the Irish American Partnership Foundation, The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, the Parent’s Association and Board of Management of the School and of course to Kerry Senior Footballer, David Clifford for being in attendance which was an incredible boost to the celebrations on the day!
Celebrations continued with music from the school’s talented musicians and with David paying a visit to all the classrooms. Meanwhile, Visitors and Clergy Members enjoyed cake and refreshments thanks to the incredible generosity of Derry Murphy of Supervalu, Kenmare who kindly sponsored the refreshments for the day.
A great day was had by all!
