School Closure (Covid-19) 12/03/2020

Dear Parents/Guardians

Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, has announced that the country’s schools, colleges and childcare facilities are to close in response to the Covid 19 pandemic from 6.00 p.m. today, In this regard St. John’s N.S. will be closed from Friday, March 13th to Friday March 27th inclusive.  As you can appreciate this closure is necessary as a public health measure to contain and prevent the spread of the Covid19 virus.  In light of this decision teachers in St. John’s have prepared and given school work to be completed at home for the duration of the closure.  This work will also be available  shortly on our school website www.stjohnskenmare.ie

As well as this, we also encourage children to use the time productively to read, research school topics, complete daily diaries where appropriate and to take regular exercise.  Additional resources for educational material is available on the following recommended websites, www.twinkle.ie, www.nessy.ie, www.scoilnet.ie, www.mathsisfun.ie.

We will inform you by text of any further updates to the school closure if and when they arise.

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support and hope that you can stay healthy and well in the coming weeks.
